I have a 6 cylinder 2001 Alero. I recently just replaced the spark plugs and the spark plug wires. When I started the car up, I discovered that cylinder 5 was misfiring. I changed the spark plug, just in case I had a faulty one, and I still had the same problem. I checked the wire, and that was fine. The Service Engine light is on and starts blinking whenever I take it up a hill or accelerate over around 30 mph. When the Auto Zone people hooked it up to the computer, in addition to telling me which cyclinder was misfiring, they told me that the EGR valve was stuck or defective. Since I had previously had a problem with that, I replaced it, but everything is still the same. What could the problem be? What is my next step? Thank you all.

Are you sure that you got that #5 spark plug in all the way and its not cross threaded, that plug is such a bitch to get to.
