Okay, this may be a dumb question, however I'm concerned because I just did the dreaded upper/lower intake manifold gasket fix. So, I'm driving just after getting the job done and I look at my fuel gauge and it's reading 1/4 tank left. Then I look at my mileage and it's like 100 miles. I begin to panic, but then I start thinking does the trip reset when the battery is disconnected.

So, that's my question. If your battery is disconnected does it reset your trip? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh, and the only setback I had doing the job was the stupid o-ring going to the fuel rail totally fell apart. Picked out the pieces and had to order the new one.

Yep, it also resets if you unplug your gauge cluster. Anytime the cluster looses power it will reset ;)

Thank you! Such a relief! I asked the "pros" behind the counter at my local auto parts store and they looked at me like I had grass growing out of my ears. Thanks again!

they work at these stores because the majority of them aren't mechanically inclined to physically work on cars  . Thats why they look everything up on the computer and still give you the wrong parts half the time.
