hey guys, i'm very excited about this, finally some mods done to the alero

first, interior lights in the foot wells in the front and back, looks very nice. thanks to cherrington for the help and many write ups in that. i had to do it twice since the first time i went lazy man. much happier the second time round, and learned a good lesson.

and secondly, I ORDERED MY HIDS!!!! :yahoo:
very excited

i got them from ddm tuning (from what i've read on here from you guys, reputable company, and make good kits)

i ordered 6000k 9006 for the low beams, and 5000k 9005 for the highs. total will be $130 shipped. it's a birthday present from people i know.

opinions on hids chosen would be much appreciated. i still have to wait for the paypal to clear, so it's not too late.

and i'm in the motor mount group buy, the ho is going to slowly start getting nicer

damn roads are mean on cars there lol...I would take the neon lights out tho... just my opinion. Keep up the good work maintenance and performance. Btw brake cleaner cans are cheap and would clean that mess in the tranny quick.

what do you guys think of my ride height? pretty close to stock, or is it a little lower?

Are you trying to say you got lowering spring on it??... looks pretty much stock to me.
:( on the front bumper job.

whiterider00
05-30-2010, 11:18 PM
looks slightly lower...maybe.

colonel6632
05-30-2010, 11:31 PM
no, not trying to say it's lower, to me it already looks a little lower than other aleros, i know i have the sport suspension, so i thought maybe the sport suspension was lower than the touring one

and i'm also rather sad on the bumper, which is kinda the reason i want to get the aas kit.

Vic28

If am not mistaken, sport suspension is solid sway bar on the front for better handling... if anything our ecos look higher for being lighter. I (ME lol) wouldnt do a body kit, especially if I live in that type of terrain.

colonel6632
05-31-2010, 12:05 AM
lol, good idea, and it's either a body kit, or lowering springs with adjustable struts, i'm leaning towards lowering.

Dang man your dash is lit up like a Christmas tree lol. Seriously it looks good though man, keep up the good work and I think it could use a good wash and wax lol.

ya, i'm working on getting those lights off, now i have a check engine light too.

and its official.... HIDS ORDERED!!!

i ordered the cheaper raptor set, i didn't need the thin ballast ones. $30 for the lows, and $40 for the highs, with lifetime warranty. and i'm hoping people don't order these ones as much, and i'll get them sooner

very nice job on everything! i ordered a pair of HIDs from ddm 8000k 35 watt for the lows so thanks for posting the pics of where you mounted the ballasts. also, hows the paint on the wheels doing? no wear?

colonel6632
07-12-2010, 12:03 AM
no wear as of yet... but they're only 1 day old lol.

and i'm not sure where everyone else mounted their ballasts, but i'm currently finding new solutions. i want to extend all the wires and mount them over by my intake somewhere. i have a big empty hole there

cherrington17
07-12-2010, 07:27 AM
smurf posted a how to, and i posted a few other pics. if you have a small piece of metal, its easy to make a good mount.
