Can the plastic gauge bazel be painted? like to body color? can it even be taken off?

i'm sure it can be, but why not just get the carbon fiber one offered here, it's not that expensive.

I would recommend getting this at the same time if you want to do it, as from what i've read getting the gauge face open is quite a task
