The front tweeter in my car just blew out, and its driving me crazy. So this fall I'm planning on replacing all of the factory speakers.

What I'm looking for is advice on which speakers (specific part numbers) are direct replacments for the factory units. I don't mind a little work, but I don't want to be building custom mounts or glassing stuff in. Not looking for high dollar stuff either, but don't want it to sound like crap....so somewhere in the middle. I also don't have any (current) plans to amp any of these speakers, if that matters.

Also, how do you get the rear speakers out? It looks like a PITA.

i have a pair of American Bass SQ4.6s im selling. 25 + shipping. they screw right into the factory panel. all you need to do is seal the edges with some silicone. very easy

edit: http://www.teptronics.com/sq4-6.html?productid=sq4-6&channelid=FROOG
american bass website has a server error so heres that xD

Are these the ones that you were having an issue with the driver's side popping and crackling? Ever figure that out?

If I were to use these, what would be a good tweeter to compliment them? One of my original ideas was a component front speaker to fill both holes at once.

yea i think it was a wire that was loose. it eventually went away. the speakers have built in tweeters. running off the headunit it sounds pretty good but it would probably get louder off the stock amp. good sound quality tho
