definitely need more info on the car, if you want us to help get it running.
what does it do? first basics...
have power? (check battery)
have gas? (check fuel/fuel pressure)
does it turn over?
does it make any odd noises while trying to turn over?

Welcome to the forum. Have fun with your new project.
BTW the capitol in Madison is definitely one of the nicest ones I've seen.

Ok. I didn't know if i should start a new thread in an other category for this, but here we go.
I bought the car with a "supposed" bent rod. Well it revs to 3500 then stalls with no shaking really. I figure fuel. It also can't have any load or its bogs, then stalls. Just changed fuel filter of which i could barely blow through, but didn't fix the problem. I'll do a pump next, but that's the odd thing. My pressure reads 59 at the rail, at idle about 51, then 59 whilst being revved up. By the book, i would assume the pump is good being that i'm told it should be 59. Did the FPR suck test and that seems good. 150,000 miles on the car.Previous owner knew NOTHING about cars, and it had almost no oil when i picked it up. I assumed main bearings until i put oil in it and it ran smooth, with no ticks.
I'm pretty handy, but diagnosing newer cars is a bit over my head.(electronics/sensors)

maybe a clogged cat if you can't put loads on the car... any codes ?? check engine light

No, no codes. I thought maybe that also. Can i just straight pipe through the cat and weld in a new spot for the O2 sensor, or will that screw with my alero's koolaid? I usually cut cats out of everything, but not on newer cars like these because of the sensors.

at least try to unbolt the exhaust before the cat to test if it is the problem... but I really suggest that you replace it instead of removing it.... and if you remove it it will set a check engine light and code

Thanks for the welcome everyone, and i'll try to remove the exhaust also, see if that does it. To bad there's no way around the cat without throwin a code. I hate cats, they rob so much of everything.
