so last night i hear the clicking of the turn signal lights and thought i forgot to turn off my turn signal as i passed a car...well the turn signal lights werent flashing and the switch wasnt up or down(on) and the indicator arrows arent flashing either! it also clicks sparatically and random intervals so correct me if im wrong...there is a clicking mechanism for the turn signals and if so how can i locate it and fix the issue? it feels like its right in the center of the hazard/center vent/ignition area behind the dash. if it came down to it i wouldnt mind getting rid of the clicking part as long as the rest of it keeps working. help please and thanks!

if im not mistake your hazard switch should make the clicking sound just look into replacing the hazard switch

clean your multifunction switch (turning signal switch) and wire harness.

its common... theres a how-to. Mine does it, it drives me nuts. But i'm lazy when i have free time... so it gets ignored.

replace the hazard switch, it's a recall item on the aleros

ok so couple different things could be it looks like. so if i just go to the junkyard and get a switch to replace it then it should be ok? i know its too late to take it in for the recall but i did have it replaced during the recall on my first alero. looks like whoever had this one didnt take it in to be replaced. if that doesnt work then i guess il try cleaning the harness and switch it looks like.

i'd first try the cleaning thing, it's really easy to do, and free.my friends malibu had this problem. So i'm just saying, listen to cherry and clean the switch! then if that doesn't fix it, try replacing it

ok so tried the grandam site and had to register but have to wait for the registration to go thru which leaves me unable to see the pics for help. anyone able to help me out with pics? tryin to get this done now while i have time. oh and the steps seem rather in depth and was wondering if i just clean the harness contacts that click into the unit themselves without removing the whole unit?

that's weird I can see the pics without a login... you have to remove the unit because it's the contacts inside that are dirty.

like the link i posted... dielectric will keep them moving smooth... but attracts dirt which might cause more problems.

its up to you, really.
