Well, it has been almost 18 months to the day since she has been running... finally got the motor swapped, and she is alive again... Going to run her for this year stock, then add the upgraded performance parts next summer...

Also included here, is the pictures of my bottle of Tequila... and the transformation it has become... Still some work to go, brakes, a windshield and some final touches on the body work... it is not the best job, but for my first time playing with a car, I am fairly proud of myself :yahoo:

As expected, no point in blabbing without pictures, so here they are:

Comments are expected and welcome... I am just happy to have them both running, now to get them fully finished and insured and plated and I will be even happier...

Thanks... I wanted to tint them, but do something that no one has done at the same time... so I left the reflector untinted...

Nice! Love that hood!

Bodies on them look a little rough :( Give them some TLC!

I've been looking to tint mine for a while. They tend to look pretty good on the black version of our car. Care if I steal your idea? :thumb:

And you don't even see the worst of it on the "bottle of tequila".

I want your hood! Glad to see cars coming alive dude!

ya both cars need some TLC for sure... one thing at a time... lol...
lots of bondo has gone into Tequila, it is basically going to be a winter beater, so I am not really spending much on it... so far to date, $300 (tequila, front brake lines, bondo, paint, wheels and tires) and figure I have about $200 more to spend on a windshield swap (I already have the windshield from a Grand Am) and the rest of the brakes...

The Hood, I found on Kijiji, some kid bought it during the Group Buy, wrecked his Alero, stuffed it into his parents garage and moved to the East Coast... His parents got sick of seeing it, and sold it to me dirt cheap!!!

Love the hood. Should put it on the black one, swap the rims between the two and drive the 4 door as a daily and play with the 2 door.

Like 'em either way. =)

Oh, and which one is Tequila? I'm too new to know the story. =)

You should do an up close shot in the sun of the tails on the black one. Looks uber-cool in those pictures with the sun semi-reflecting on them.

Yeah that hood looks super sick on the not black car , but yeah i think you should take that nice hood and put it on the black car. That would look way cooler, But they both are looking pretty good, you got a nice set of tinted headlights

Congrats man. Glad to see that you got both of them running and with some TLC both will look great.

Thanks everyone...
The black one is the tequila car, that is why the hood is on the sedan... it has way more done to it, lowered, intake, full stereo and is newer with less miles...
If anyone wants to copy the tails, be my guest, this is a forum where people show off what they have done, with hopes of being the first... I think I am the first to leave the reflective strip clear, I know others have left the white reverse light, others have done circles, or full tint, etc.
I will try to get some more pictures during the day of both cars, as they do need some work and I could use all the advice I can get!!!

Bumper sag? lol And you must have missed the part where the "clean" Ho has all of the modificatons. Wouldn't make much sense to put such a sweet part on the project restoration car dude.

I would, gives me more reason to get on the job faster so I can have it out running much faster.

you don't see the bumper sag? its right there on the clean running car look at the gap between the hood and front bumper

Love the color of the 4 door, obviously rust alwayz have to mess it up with the aleros lol. I wish I had that hood.

tw0123

the bumper sag as you call it is just misalignment of the hood... it is sitting up about a quarter inch too far right now, has to be moved forward and that should clean up the sag... again, there is still work to be done, and proper adjustments of everything is definitely in order...

Thanks Vic, I had a choice between a dark green one or this one, and I could not resist this colour... even dirty it does not look that bad... plus the colour is not that obvious, which means I can slip by most cops without them doing too much... however, that might change now with the hood on... lol...

hey well then its not sag its just adjustments which aint bad other then that I like how they look

Thanks... I played with the alignment today and it cleaned it up a lot... I hate how it is teasing me to just forget about the daily responsibilities of life and just work on the car...
lol... what to do, what to do...

I took the whole assembly apart, then sprayed the chrome piece black, first I taped off the orange reflector, and then used VHT Nightshades, and added a light coat on the clear lens before reassembling them. A wipe with some nail polish remover will take them back to clear if I have any issues. I do not have the car on the road as of yet, so I cannot say if I have had any issues or not from the cops... I have a set of the clip on black covers, and I was pulled over for them on my other car a couple years ago... They are sitting in a closet somewhere ever since... I am planning on getting a set of HID's to use, so hopefully it will offset the light tint enough the cops dont bug me...

That sounds like a good idea, i think i may try that, i have a white alero, i just blacked out the rear lights, tinted the windows and put black rims on so the front lights would look good. How exactly do you remove the whole headlight?

Depends on what year you have, but most likely there will be two clips you need to pull up, then they slide right out. detach the wiring tho of course.
