Check your remote wire. A lot of the time if that got disconnected my system wouldn't work. Other than that, regardless of the rms power that the amp puts out in relation to how much the sub can take, it should still do something whether under or over-powered. I would take your amp somewhere to get it looked at. There's a lot of wires in there that could get harmed in one way or another.

only place sadly that will look at audio stuff for car related charges $70 an hour to look at it and $80 just to first look at it, worst comes to worst I will have it looked it ( providing I dont find a cheaper priced one for the same price )
ill start tearing out the remote wire to check whats up however the amp still lights up so doesn't that mean the remote is still working?

Do you have a digital multi meter?
Without that we are just pissing in the wind. Looks for loose or not connected wires- including RCAs

Sounds like it could be the rca's. ^^^ You said the amplifier turns on, is the protect light on? Maybe a loose ground. Where do you have the amplifier grounded? Is it all new equipment? Check the fusing in the amplifier too.

fuse on the amp is good, last I checked RCA's were good ( two days ago ) amp is a year old, the AMP light is to allow you to see there is power ( the middle triangle light on the top part of the amp ).
ground is connected to rear strut mount.
ill grab my multimeter from work tomorrow

If the amp power light stays lit when the car/ignition is off, then the remote wire isn't attached correctly, and will, in turn, drain your battery. I had that problem once. Then the car wouldn't start after leaving it over night. Not fun :(

well an update on this, even tho the amp turns on and seems like it was working by how everything was set up and power going to it. the amp was messed I hooked up another amp and away we go were pounding again.
the old amp has no scorches on the board and seems like the motherboard on it is completly fine, no missing connections nothing I can't figure it out and I cant see it worth it to bring into a shop to repair it, I might try my computer guy to see if he can fix it or not
