I've had these brakes sitting in my garage for about a month now, but between work and vacation, I haven't had a chance to put them on yet.

Until yesterday.

They are drilled and slotted, with carbon fiber brake pads. I just painted the rotors fully with high temp caliper paint and let the pads strip off the paint where they touch. The pads came in their red colour, and I painted the calipers with high temp caliper paint and then high temp clear.

I haven't driven them enough to break them in yet but I have felt a bit of a stronger force when braking.

I think the outcome is pretty good.

First pic = fresh install w/ paint still on rotor

Second Pic = after ~50 km

to keep them from rusting to the hub.

It's just pointless to do it when the pads are just going to rub the paint off... I mean, I guess I understand the part that the pads don't touch, but it just looks kinda ugly like that...

well thats the point... I bet its damn easy to just spray em and let the brake pads take care of the rest..

Btw it looks good, I got lazy on mine, I had to replace both my front calipers and I havent paint them back to match rear  . i prolly just sprayem like you did.

I agree with the painting the rotor part.

I usually get the hub part powdercoated for the rust factor ;)

Yeah, I painted the rotor to make sure it doesn't rust, because they look like poop when they do. I also painted the entire rotor, even inside the air vents, for the same reason. Also, once the pant peels off, there is still paint left in the slots and holes, so those wont rust later on and look bad.
