so had my 2002 alero 2.2 ecotec 4 door for about a year and a half now.
rebuilt the head cause the timing went out cause that stupid tensioner
then spun some rod bearings so had to go get the crank shaft turned and put me in some new clevite bearings.
i've thrown a 3A racing exaust on it
lowered it 1.75 inches(just cutting and clamping till i get the money for some real springs)
did a full cold air intake by spectre that's done me pretty good.
new water pump and all.
threw a new kenwood deck in.
pretty soon going to put the 2.4 ecotec manifold in to get a little more hp
running falken tires on stock rims
and ganna turbo it soon but need some advice on the trubo setup for the 2.2 ecotec. can anyone help me out on that??
then next i'm ganna throw a coat of dark metallic blue for paint and i really want to find someone selling the AED bodykit cause i love the front lip of that kit.
it's great to see so many people tuning up alero's haha

Doesn't look terrible man. Your exhaust looks identical to the one that I have on my Intrigue though lol.

Clearly you dont know shit about cars if you think that cutting your springs and putting clamps on them is even close to a good idea....why not add a nos sticker for another 50hp.....

ummm ok JD1
i'm 17 and already ASE certified.
i think i can get my way around a car just fine
and it doesn't do any harm except ride comfort
at least i'm not one of the people who just heated them up

Ok first off cutting springs ISN'T a good idea cause not only is it dangerous to do but also not a good idea. I have had friends do that and all that happened was the springs weren't worth a damn and the springs eventually gave out and the car looked like ass... and on the ASE certified thing any average joe shmow could be ASE certified hell if my dog could take the test he would get certified so that's not exactly something that great.. and on a funny side note ASE = ASK SOMEONE ELSE

wow people get hurt on here
it's very ammussing
but cutting 1 coil off my springs
really won't hurt anything
for the 20 some years my dad has had the 68 GTO and from then to when he passed it down to me
we'ce cut/blocked/clamped the springs and guess what
it's perfectly fine till' this day
my alero's been like that for like 5 months and still has the same ride height from when i originally cut them
the front ones are just clamped and really stiff
the onlt thing dangerous is that the rear springs can come off the bottom of the spring housing on the strut. and that's only a little bit if i were to manage to get the car air born
and ya i know that. i'm just saying in general i know my way around a car.
it's all i've been around and done since day 1

I have cut springs! Cut the dead coil off of my dz springs no problems and still sits exactly way on the perch. Now and 1.5" lower

Cutting springs is bad because all springs are designed for certain weights by cutting them you jeopardize the strength of them and bad stuff can happen, you can cut them and drive a few thousand miles on cut springs but I wouldn't trust my own life with cut springs your better off to buy some proper springs and go that route, also if your going to turbo your ecotec go to ecotecforum.com tell them ABHELLRAZOR sent you they are the best ecotec resource out there and thats how a learned all my ecotec knowledge.
