Hi guys,

My name is Jon Bilyeu and I live in Illinois, I registered a few minutes ago so I could be a part of this forum. I bought a used 2001 Olds Alero GLS Coupe with 3400 motor last December. I love it and am just now getting into the process into modding it a bit. My specialty is audio, if you ever need help with audio, let me know, and I'll be glad to help. However, there is one problem with my Alero, I am pretty sure my window regulator is shot, well not the regulator, but the window sashes, and as I understand it, I can't get the sashes without the regulator. So I am going to get on ebay and buy a new regulator, but does anyone have detailed instructions on this common problem?

I am scared of screwing this up, as I love this car dearly. Plus, this week or next I am replacing my speakers in the doors. Tonight I am replacing my 6x9s. Infinity all the way, baby!!!!!!!

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jon

yea its kinda a common problem.........but not too bad.......but just pull your door panel off, undo the electrical connectors........unbolt your glas from the regulator and pull it out through the top(makes it easier, then just undo the bolts and the one wire harness to the regulator......it really isnt hard at all........and ebays the best and cheapest way to get em.........i think i did a how to or something like it a while back when i changed mine.......just do a search for it

so there is no way to got just the 3-piece bracket that connects the window to the track? i had to buy a new regulator too. but this week, it broke again. stupid cheap plastic pieces. i'm in the processs of remaking as much of that 3-piece bracket out of metal so it won't break. but, i can't remake the whole thing, i'm not that good. just using a dremel and some 1/16" sheet metal. anyways, no where to get just those?
