I've ben looking to replce the 4 way flasher in my 2000 4cyl Alero. I see there are 2 flavors, Airtex or the Doorman. The Doorman is $16 n the Airtex is $25. Both look exactly alike.
Which one?

Pics? For all we know tha Airtex is a rebadged Dorman, or something. IMO, I'd only buy a Dorman product if there were on alternative since their stuff is normally poor quality (replacement caps that don't fit right and fall off while driving, etc.). Compare their serpentine belt tensioner to anyone elses, and you'll buy the other brand. Havign said that, I have no experience with anything made by Airtex. Can you specify the country of origin for both products? I'm guessing that the Dorman is made in China, Taiwan, or someplace liek Thiland or Vietnam.

Both look exactly the same only cost is different.

I do believe the Dorman one may be warrantied longer. Even if they may be identical.

With a 60% OE failure rate, Hazard Switches fail when the OE contacts burn out due to exposure to temperature changes which may result in solder joint cracking. This, in turn, disables the turn signals and hazard lights.
Is it possible to disscet it and resolder?

I personally wouldn't assume that the Rock Auto photos are 100% accurate. I'd want to go to an auto parts store and look at the ones they have to see if they really are the same (I.E. if the Airtex is a rebadged Dorman).

None of the local auto parts stores have the switch. So I figured since this is the Alero place n lot of you guys changed em, someone must know what's up with these brands.
I was going to try n resolder it but not untill I get a new switch in it first. DMV inspection dosen't want ot hear about resoldering that didn't work out n a new part is on the way.
I did see the warentee of the Dorrman and I will probably order it anyway.
Thanks.
