Go with Autometer
The have a lot of different designs and don't look as ricy as the gloshift ones. Plus they last! American made quality, not Chinese crap.
The mech oil gauge will require a brass tubing kit. You can use the nylon tube they give you, but I went with brass from the get-go. Autometer does have a tubing kit, I bought 2 of them to give me 12 feet. You need about 9 to 10 on the 3400 engine.
Be sure to tighten the tubing up in the connectors. Don't do what I did and just push it in place. What a mess :(

2 of these, I wouldn't use the nylon tube for the oil, vacuum OK but not oil
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATM-3224/
I bought 2 and had a little bit of slack, but it's copper, you bend it in the place you want and it will stay put
You know that those gauges are side lit, they do not light up like the gloshift gauge you were looking at

Mech gauges are more accurate.
Electrical gauges and OK in modern cars like the Alero, but old school cars, should have old school gauges
My tranny gauge would have been mech, if they made a mech in that series

Plus, probably becasue I had a Faze (Sunpro) gauge in my car, but the sending unit for the oil gauge crapped out.
Don't know if it was too close to the header, or just a poor unit. With a mech gauge, don't have to worry about that :D

redog can u give me advice. like on what i need? does the kits come with what u need for the alero? or do i need to buy a different sender for the car? and a detailed description if u can on the install for oil press. like where does the sender go?

No the gauges come with everything you need, however I highly suggest buying the brass tubing kit for the mech oil gauge. Personally I don't trust the thin nylon tubing they give you. It crimps easy and could tear. You may have to buy some wire, crimps and crimp tool, and I would suggest an AG (automotive glass) inline fuse holder and fuse. One for lighting, one for the electric gauges you put in
The gauges do light up at night, but they just have a 194 bulb in them. It's basic, simple, old fashoined side lighting like cars had in the early 80's and earily. Sometimes they can be a little hard to see, but they do work.
http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugeseries.aspx
Take a look at autometer's site. Gauges like the Carbon Fiber, Phantom, Ultra Lite and so on are "side lit" they lite with a 194 blub. Gauges like the NV, Nexus, Ultra Lite II are lit with LED type lighting. Pretty much like the clusters in today's cars.
Figure out what you want gauge wise, and then see if they have what you are looking for, in the style you like.

thanks for that info. but idk im really set on the glowshift. they're in my budget more. but idk if i can use autometers copper lines with the glowshift.. cause yeah i agree about the nylon hose. and is the fuse necessary?

please post a link about the fuses and stuff where i can order em or get pics on what they look like so i have an idea. i looked it up on google and i see a ton im not sure on which. (btw im new to the gauge deal sorry about all the questions haha) but i appreciate it.

I wouldn't cheap out on gauges, I did when I went with prosport and I regret it. They look nice but they crapped out on me and I had to send them back so they could get me new ones. Then there customer service sucks so I had to wait a couple months while they kept telling me they'd send them back and never did. I'm not sure about glowshitf but from what I've mostly heard there just another cheap brand and more for looks than anything. So you'll definietly want to go with a gauge you don't have to worry about especially if you plan on racing or doing some engine modification.

^^ Get off your butt and go to Auto Zone
The fuse holder will look like this, you cut the wire in half and strip the cover off exposing the wire:
http://www.pl-259.com/Fuse%20Holder%20HD%203AG.JPG
The fuses look like this, wait until you get the gauges to see how many amps the gauge needs:
http://media.digikey.com/photos/Bel%20Photos/3AG%20250-R.JPG
The conncetors you need look like this, You'll need a butt connceter and a splice conncetor, most likely 18-22 gauge (usually red):
http://www.wiringproducts.com/contents/media/2156h-outlined.jpg
And the splice:
See how the wires are stripped? That's how you do it and I twist the copper part before putting in the connector. Just like twisting hair together
http://www.gordonrichards.net/300zx/foglight.splice.connector.jpg
I perfer to conncet the wiring like this, twist the wires together like I said and put the wires in the conncetor and crimp it:
http://www.xcalibr.net/navDIY2/6.jpg
Here is an example of the wires all connceted:
http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/fbody/exp175.JPG
And the crimp tool looks like this, this you can also get at Auto Zone with the wiring. It strips, cuts, and crimps, but no it doesn't make fries

And if the oil gauge you buy has a 1/8, 27 npt conncetor on it, then yes that copper kit WILL work

Heres the gauges i have its kinda a mix right now cause im in the middle of swapping everything over to cyberdyne gauges. Well the top 2 in the 3 pillar pod and the right one on the cluster gauge are the glowshift digital blue the other one on the cluster gauge if my new cyberdyne gauge and the other one on the pillar is some crappy no name autozone gauge.

oh also redog it says the Oil Pressure gauges come complete with a 1/8th npt male thread electrical oil pressure sender
im assuming that wont work because it isnt a 1/8th 27 npt?

If its an electrical gauge like my glow shift you just screw in the sender into the block and then just run wires back to the gauge.

No that is the correct size. I think most oil gauges have the same fitting on them.
I forgot, you'll need this too, VERY IMPORTANT!!!
Teflon tape!!! You can get this at Home Depot, for about $1 a roll. Plus it's super awesome stuff. If you still live at home, your dad might have this in his tool box ;)

leave pieces of foam behind the clips cause if you take it all out the clips will go all the way down and you wont be able to clip it in.

I had a mechanical oil pressure guage leak inside the car once a long time ago. Never again.
I put an electric one in a car once. The needle bounced around so much I had tp put a huge capacitor across it just to smoothen out the needle. That and I can't say that it was in any way useful. Other gauges yes, oil pressure, not really.
