Well, i have a lot of extra lexan that wasn't needed from my dads factory, so i'm gonna try my hand at forming it to a tail light lense. Any advice before i start would be great. ie- best mold or forms. ways to bend. heat to use. also what sealers will work best to attach it?

Ive read on hear somewhere to use a oven in the process, but that's up to you.

I think that if you put in the oven the original rear light assembly with the lexan on top of it it will form itself to the exact waves that you need but I don't know what temperature to use nor how much time... i say go from 350 and wait that it bends itself to the desired shape... then get it out so it hardens in the good shape... that will be trial and error i think... for the sealer get clear caulk that resis UV rays

So, i'm having trouble removing the original lens from the housing. Anybody done this before? I baked it at about 180 degrees like what you would do for the headlight, but no luck. It's still on solid. I tried to pry a bit and immediately broke a small corner edge.

i'm pretty sure it doesn't come out. it needs to be broken and custom formed.
I'd probably do a clay mold of the outside of lens of the light. Then mold lexan to the inside of that clay (so its the same contact surface as the outside of the light)
but i know NOTHING about doing this kind of work.

It looks like it needs to be broken out to me as well. Thanks. The clay mold sounds like a good idea too.

Taillights are not like our headlights. You have to cut the lense out! It's plastic welded or whatever you wanna call it.

Also you will need to make a mold if the light first. Otherwise it will not line up cause the lexan will actually be bigger then the oem lense.
