Hey all, I'm a new Alero owner from London, Ontario.

01 GLS, 211k, $650

I'm not one to beat around the bush I guess, So here goes...

I am obviously interested in toying with my Alero, Mostly to set it apart from the rest. I am not loaded given I have a family, life, etc. I used the SEARCH for different ideas, And one caught my attention...

The "Grand Alero" body swap.

Is this as simple as the J-body Cav/fire swap? (which has been done to death btw).

Straight bolt up, Hood, Fenders, Head lights, Header panel, Bumper?
(Bumper I would go aftermarket for nicer match up and no ugly bumps, head lights aftermarket aswell, again more options for styling.)

I'm just looking for some answers, Ideas, Tips/Tricks. Opinions are cool too, I have thick skin.

Now before this post gets flamed, trolled, or otherwise derailled like the one I read, I'll clear the air.
1 - If i wanted a GA, I would have bought one. I like the Alero ass end more.
2 - I like the idea of being a "Black sheep". Something that few (1 or 2) have done is cool and unique, IMHO.
3 - I'm 30yrs old (not 16) and I work for an LKQ yard, So parts are somewhat easy to come by, for me.

I appreciate the invite to a meet, Sadly the car is a new addition to the family, as is my liceance. 8 long as months of tinkering time before I'll be driving, But once I get that out the way, I'll be there.

30yrs old and new to driving, sad I know, But the bus always got me from A to B.

I'm gonna say, there is something about an Alero as your first car.

Glad to see there are some peeps in the area, Can't wait till summer and a real ticket to drive, graduated liceance is fail.

Off topic: Anyone have pics, or knows where I could find some pics, of a Grand Alero? I have searched around and nothing, people say its been done, Would just like to see it.

welcome and I don't think anyone has really done the swap! but ud be the first. personally I like their aftermarket headlights as there is none out there for the alero. if you do it please post pics asap it should be as simple as headlights, hood, fenders, bumper keyword here is SHOULD there will prob be some fabing of the mount locations or making holes bigger
