So, I finally got my bags on the back. It's not as low as I wanted it to be but can't complain. Can't post pictures from this iPad yet either. Lol. But my 18's look small now! Debating on going to 20s. Just wanted to ask for opinions. Should I get konig hotswaps or Velocity v925?? Can't upload pics but if someone would upload them it'd help. Lol.

18: Big pothole=possible bent rim
20: Little pothole=guaranteed bent rim

heres the reasons:

if you put 19s or 20s on your car with the air ride setup, your going to need some LOW profile tire in order to prevent rubbing issues. when you put low pros on your new rims, there is basically no sidewall for the tire to absorb the hit from potholes/bumps, but now your rim is actually taking the hit, causing cracks and bends in your new rims.

18s look good laid out with a kit, and you can still get a decent sized tire with the 18s to prevent these problems.

Thanks for going in depth with your reasoning. Lol. That's what I was looking for. Seems like the car wouldn't really drop as low with 20s anyways.

Yes u will have to run a lower profile and the risk is higher for bent/cracked rims. Its not that hard to dodge a pothole tho. I ran my all summer with no issue whatsoever

If u get the right size tire u can drop jus as low as stock wheels would allow u. Right now when I'm layed out on a flat surface my sides are about 1/8" from the ground...same as it was with my sock wheels. My drop is limited by my bags. When they are deflated my tires are not hittin anything

Yeh I don't think it would be very hard to dodge a pot hole. Off the top of my head, the only thing I need to be worried about is railroad tracks. I keep hearing that chassis tech doesn't drop hardly as much as easy street.

heh, youd be surprised, i said the same thing as you

once you crack or bend a rim and get it repaired its never the same. that rim will always be weaker in that point, and some times it will leak air. if you run low profile tires that are low on psi, you will almost undoubtedly ruin your rim. it got to the point where i had to fill up my front tires every 2 days, and if your in a rush and forget to fill them, your just asking for trouble. its your cash, spend it how you please, im just trying to give you some first hand knowledge on this topic but if you want to waste money to learn then go right ahead.

Dude trust me. I'm definitely taking in your advice. That's why I asked on here. To hear from people who've rode on bigger than 18s. And if you say it's a pain then in probably is. I'm always rushin outta the house so I'm sure it may not be a good idea to get them. What series tires did you have? 35?

ouch, id hate to change those tires! man that must have no give at all whatso ever to change your tire shop must charge you a fortune to change them and make you sign a waiver for your rims lol

it does suck to change them tires...no lie. shop ruined on wheel doin it cuz the spoke goes all the way to the lip. got a new wheel out of it :) and if i was worried about "give" i wouldnt have went with airride. and it was only 15 a tire to mount

I missed pot holes but bent 2 wheels in construction area like a 10" gap in payment 5" deep the 30s didn't stand a chance there was no way to miss it! And didn't look like a hole till 2 late. Plus they rode like shit lol

He's on bags...so I'm sure ride quality isn't top priority :P
Agred tho. If ur gunna daily it, don't do 20's...I put like 200 on my car all summer
