I was behind a dump truck this morning that was hauling gravel. I kept a pretty good distance because of having to get my windshield replaced once before from rocks falling off a truck. Keeping my distance didn't help today. The truck hit a pothole and a bunch of rocks came flying out, hitting my car. Now I have about 30 good size dings in my hood and front bumper, and they're deep too. I have no idea where to get touch up paint and what kind to even get. If anyone has bought touch up paint for a ruby red car before, please tell me where you got it. I checked at Auto Zone and all they had was a red color that I'm sure wouldn't match. Thanks in advance. :)

check with your local olds dealership or service center that is a GM certified repair center, they should have touch up paint, or check with a MAACO dealer, or something to that effect.

A GM dealer should have it, but I had to get my bumper painted once and the shop gave me some touch up paint (Ruby Red!).

should be able to claim it on your insurance. i dont know if you got the plate # of the truck, but it's one route you could have tried...

^ I don't know about her coverage, but even something like that has a $500 deductible on mine. Not even worth trying to claim unless half the car needs new paint.

And yeah, call a dealer for paint. It'll be a ripoff, but it'll be the right paint.

I've got full coverage so it probably would be a waste of time to try and claim it on my insurance. I was talking to a friend last night that works at a GM dealer in the next county from here. He said he could get the paint for me but if he doesn't come through, I'll keep you in mind Chris. Thanks :)

I work for a Honda dealer owned by a GM dealer (weird) best bet is the dealership cuz they can look up t he code and it'll be cheaper then a bodyshop. Where you located? I can get it at a discount (Im in with the parts guys) :D

Believe me, the touch up paint you can get through your dealership but, no matter what it sometimes doesn't match the paint very well...you should see part of my front bumper. At the bar probably a little after a Fritolay truck took off my front fachia a Pontiac Grand Prix hit me on the front bumper and I tried using the touch up paint because it took a tiny bit of paint off...my car is the 02 metallic sterling silver so it didn't match very well. A good person to ask about his kind of stuff is bdyman...he would probably help out with the paint area.
