Okay, so here is my problem. I have these scratches on my passanger side front and back windows. They look awful. Its been like this since I bought the car. Now my question is (besides getting new windows) what could I do ? Now, last night I thought of maybe doing a layer of tint on the outside of the window. YES, i know that your not suppose to; my regular tint is on the inside. But, would I have any major problems with it ? I did have a scratch on the inside and my tint covered it really well and I can't notice it anymore.. hence my thought of tint on the outside... so what would be my problems with that ?

and i would do a light layer maybe 20%... and do all door windows to match it

what about whitening toothpaste, with no grit of course, I've used it on cd's and it works pretty well, and have heard it works on class, just apply it to a lint free rag or buffing pad and have at it :thumb:

why do you think you brush with it? its a really REALLY fine grit paste.

yes, they had the problem repaired but never bought a new window

oh and i did some research on tint on the outside.. the rain would get in and bubble it... so i guess toothpaste it is.. anyone done it suggest a brand/type

Any old toothpaste would probably work. Crest, colgate... Etc. Maybe stay away from whitening stuff though. Just in case the whitening compounds or bleach change the finish of the window at all. Just to be on the safe side.

There was an article on this before and I believe I remember bdyman saying that you have to buff it out an polish it. What are the clips that cause this because I have the same thing on my car...

I've seen them use toothpaste on headlights on Trucks.

Funny how a few weeks later they used the Mother's headlight restore on Horsepower :lol:

If you wanna use car products, I'd assume you could just sand it with 1000 grit until the scratch is gone, then 1500 grit, then buff and polish the glass, yes?

The stuff you use to polish the glass is called Cerium Oxide.
