And this brings us up to date... Misty and Tequila sitting in the driveway... One off the road for the winter, one on... New paint and some body work scheduled for the spring/early summer, and all will be well again... plus more interior work on Misty to clean up the stereo again... and some engine goodies as well...

got the grand am as a motor donor for Misty this spring for $350, and the interior out of Tequila was pretty much shot, so I figured, wth, might as well give it a shot and swap it out and see how it works... so far, my turn signals have gone hyper, and I can't get my horn to work again... Other than that, it works like a charm... So far the grand am has come in really useful lol... engine, interior, windshield, mirrors, and I have sold off most of the body parts as well...

After getting the wheels, the only thing from left to get for the outside is a body kit... I already have the cowl hood, clear corners, mild engine work, strut tower bars, full stereo, and it is lowered...
and... I got them for $500... even if they don't fit, I re-sell them for a profit...

He has daytime running lights, As far as I know all aleros have them. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

yes that i know of they all have them just some are in the high beams and some are in the low beams (unless disabled by the owner)

i put in the white turn signal bulbs, and they are not as bright as my head lights... this is how it gives the appearance that they are not on... but they are on... it is illegal with the white lights instead of the amber, but so far i have not had any issues...

I have "white" bulbs in my turn signals too, however I have Wagner true-view headlights that look like about 6-8000Ks, so my white halogen turn signals look amber in comparison.

I have not put them on yet, no sense them sitting there getting a flat spot until the car is fully running again... I had to get a set of 1" spacers for the back to clear the spring perch, the front fit with minimal clearance... I might get a 1/8 spacer to balance them out a bit more... afterall, it is a FWD lol...

That is the next step... I am currently evaluating which option to go with, the GXP swap all around, or the F-body swap... since I have the large wheels, I know the GXP's will fit... just have to find them at a reasonable price...
After that is done, it is in dire need of paint and rust repair :cry: Hopefully in the next 2 years... lol... It sucks not having unlimited funds for toys with a family at home...

finally got the headlights done... lenses were all yellow so I bought the 3m headlight restoration kit... tried using a drill like it says and apparently if you use just a bit too much force it will burn the lens... so out came the manual sanding with more coarse grit paper until it was clear again... didn't cross my mind to take before and after pictures until I was done of course!!

Great job, love the tail light actually. Headlight is good attempt, just has the old hazy look, but looks way better. BTW take the "A" away from your license plate and you have a good description LOL

I am hoping that is just from the synthetic wax that came with the kit, and it will clear up more as I wash the car... Time will tell... Worst case, I take the clear corner lights and steal the lens from them and glue them on to this set... lol... the other set just has a shit ton of moisture in it giving it the hazy look... I just never had the time to take it apart again to fix it... Got this set real cheap so I played with the coloring and this is the result :)

Whats with all the gauges you have on the side? What are those for?

top one is the interceptor scan gauge... it reads a bunch of different things, check the link on the previous page... next is my volt meter... i have a decent system so i put it in to know what my voltage is reading in case there ever is an issue... the bottom one is a mechanical oil pressure gauge, it reads the psi of the oil at the stock sensor and it is a good indicator as well to a problem if it drops too low, as the stock unit must go too low before a warning light comes on and serious damage has already occured... better safe than sorry lol

ya, it needs a glossier look. looks like plastic dip. I like what you've done with the hood, still not a super huge fan of the fenders but with the stock body it looks a lot better then with a kit. needs a bit of touching up and a skirt for sure but overall, Its really not to bad. sweet rims btw. just needs some touching up.

sort of... got a duplicolour brake caliper paint and it used a art brush instead of spray can... then I taped off the rotor, put on a logo and used a razor edge to cut it out and rattle can'd it body colour, then used a hair dryer to cure...

Yupp i have the whole kit (spoiler has been loaned to guiguilandry :)) and so far the driver's rocker has been test fitted.. the passenger side curls at the rear so it needs a heat treatment to get it on... the rear is the same, both sides flare out and will need heated to come in, and the trunk lip is a wave and will need work to smooth down... it's coming though :)

My exhaust has to be redone anyways... right now it y's just before the rear axel and i want it to go back up over the axel to avoid scrapping on speedbumps etc...

picked up a muffler and tips off a genesis on Monday... going to see if those tips will fit the osv...
on the winter to do list so far:
-finish install of kit,
-finish install of suspension,
-pull and reinstall stereo, clean up wiring, etc,
-install front sway bar,
-look into motor mods (have cam, pushrods, valve springs, what next?)

I'm sure there is more, but that's all I can think of currently... will post more pictures as progress continues :)

Thanks Eric!! I kniw Scot has some, pretty sure his was a full corsa exhaust he bought just for the tips... i got the Genesis exhaust for free so figured I'd give it a shot til i could buy or have made a proper set of tips... still need to figure out a muffler as well...

I think the "real" OSV exhaust outlet was a cast aluminum piece. Joserivas19 (the first one to have the complete OSV kit installed) had a fabricated aluminum outlet that didn't look too shabby.

I do have the corsa tips but they won't sell them separate from the kit. So you have to buy kit for $1k. I was lucky when I bought mine like 11 years ago.

I am having fun with the kit, unfortunately with the cold it has put my process on hold again... i need one more layer of glass on the rocker covers then some bondo to smooth out...

I was meaning bodykits quality. We have ran into so many issues that we have had to changes our ideas multiple times. I think Neumann wants to kick them in the cocksucker.....lol. I know I do.

I tell ya the wing was horrible. The rockers have been a pain.

I feel ya! I have parts, putty, sand paper, crap everywhere but never get to it. and your project is lot more invasive.

It's another gm shift knob with shift boot... The plate is integrated on the handle itself

Can you get a picture with the car in the same stop completely dropped and completely raised? Having to go back a page and things it's hard to say but you have what, 5,6 inches of adjustment?

Been a while since I've updated this thread...
Car is still no where near finished, life keeps getting in the way...
Progression is happening, got another rare piece installed last summer finally after 2 years of waiting... then found a set of shaved doors that i got for free, and 2 weeks ago finally figured out a way to get a clear 3rd brake light lens to replace the scuffed and crappy tinted lens i had...

Since it's cold and snowy up here, I'm working on a couple stereo upgrades, and rewiring the car for it...

Hopefully I'll finish it one of these days Haha
