So is it a GLS or not?

So Ive been browsing around and Ive seen some posts that say that a GLS has to have the sun and sound package but mine does not. It also did not come with a spoiler, is it possible that the original owner opted out of these options?

it DOES have leather, alloy wheels and carfax thinks its a gls. not a very important question but its been bugging me. any input is appreciated. (its a 99 btw 3400)

I think if it has leather, it's a GLS.

Not necessarily... You could get leather on the GL in a couple years. In 2001 you could even get a 2.4 with leather.

Really the sure fire way to tell if your car is a GLS is the 5th digit of the VIN.

I agree with cliff. Most likely a gl. All GLS aleros i have seen have all the options, just like a GAGT. I have seen lots of gl models with leather and even the premium sound, but that's because they were factory options. Anything the GLS had could be optioned onto a GL. Therefore, you can actually have a GL that is the same as a GLS, but the VIN will tell you.
