New Stereo for 2000 alero

Hey guys,
I am a newbie here. I've read a lot of threads about the stereo swaps, and using the GMOS-01 chime box. My question is they are all 2001 and newer. Will I need that for my wifes 2000?

I never used a chime box in my 2000, but i still kept my chimes lol

2000 Does not need the box, just a simple wiring kit.

I have two available in the for sale section.

i did not use the chime kit. the only chime thats worth a damn is the low gas one but the light comes on in that case
