Hope someone here can help me out. Lately i've had some weird and crazy things going on with my 2000 alero 2.4l. When I park the car and turn the key to off and pull it out, various warning lights stay on as if i still had the key in on position. check engine, battery, seatbelt, etc. just to name a few. Also a few times my headlights wouldn't shut off after 20 seconds like they would usually do. had to accually pull the neg. on my battery. Sometimes I can hear my power locks unlocking and locking themselves aswell....lol.
I have always had a problem with being able to pull my keys out of the ignition when the car is running which is not normal, but has never caused a problem.
At first I thought it was the battery but it checks out fine. I've only had this accually drain the battery once.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks

well I asked a few other people at my work ( I work at a dealership ) and they thought the same thing its what to try first anyways but you might have to have the dealer do it because of the anti-theft either way there ain't much more I can see it being without being there to try and help you

i've been jostling around the key before i shut the car off and i haven't had the problem since. so i think robalero may be right. thanks for the help. now is this something i can rip out of a car at the wreckers as long as they have the key?

id buy it from the dealer, that way they can make it fit for your current key so your not carrying around two of them
