Ecotec Water Pump question

so my eco was overheating and today as i was adding water i noticed steam comming out from under the exhaust manifold. and a steady stream of water falling on my passenger cv boot. im pretty sure i know what it is. i think it the water pipe that runs between the Tstat housing and the water pump housing. Judging by the pic if the water pump was to go bad there would be water in my oil right? so its probably just an O-ring or seal between the pump housing and the pipe. if anyone has done this before, im just looking for verification. also i kno in this pic the arrows pointing to the Tstat housing, i kno thats not the water pumphttp://imgur.com/lSr67.jpg

I don't see how a bad water pump could put water into the oil, the only way those two can mix is if you have a crack somewhere or a bad head gasket.

because the water pumps driven off the timing chain. so theres gotta be a gasket to separate the water side from the oily side.

Ahh ok, that makes sense. I've never dug into one of these engines. I suppose that could potentially cause mixing, and with the amount that's coming out it would definitely be noticeable. And the part you have pointed out would dump right on the manifold, creating your steam. I'd say you probably have a good place to start at the very least.

Apologies for the hijack, but this is an outstanding pic to illustrate my unanswered question on installing a Prestone flush 'T' - which one of the metal stems to the left of the arrow feeds into the heater inlet hose going into the firewall?

Heater inlet hose is the desired location for the flush T, not the heater output coming out of the heater/firewall. Thanks.
