I've silened the beast that is the peice of rattling trim on my trunk lid. I'm sure you all know which peice I'm talking about. It's the one that your license plate is mounted on, and has the emblems on it.

Well, I got me a kit of dynamat (4sq ft I beleive), took off the peice of trim laid down a fair bit on the inside of that peice of trim, mostly along the top where it meets the trunk lid, and at the bottom in the same location (I even put dynamat into the little foldover area in the trim, that was a pain). Then I put dynamat on the bottom part of the trunk lid where the trim met the steel, and had about an inch going up the back of the trunk steel, and had about half an inch wrapping underneath so that the peice of trim would be unable to flex out, and impact the steel making the horrid rattling it made before.

I don't know exactly how clear that came out. But, I'm happy, cause the accursed peice of trim is now SILENT!

I still have half my sheet of dynamat left too, I think I'm going to be putting it up at the top of the trunk lid, right by where it meets the window. There's something giving off a bit of a rattle up there, and IT MUST DIE!! But first...supper. ;)

oh...has anyone had any luck with silencing the rear deck that holds the 6x9s? Right now I've just got something crammed between the deck, and the rear window. I mean, it WORKS, but I don't know just how well it works.
