This is bullshit, I can understand passing out noise violations but I really like my music and oem speakers usually can't compare to aftermarket on sound quality.

So does anyone know if it passed today??? I've been reading a little on this and it's just ridiculous.
I don't see how it could stand... but I'm still on pins and needles.

It won't pass. It's more of an attempt to draw attention to the "issue." Just people driving around bumping their shit in traffic, through residential areas, in the middle of the night, etc. Look all over the internet and you'll find thousands of stories of people bitching about noise pollution while people are still hauling ass around on their Harley's. People like that give us real audio enthusiasts a bad name. I love and enjoy the hobby, the challenge, and the reward at the end...
The bills has way too many obvious holes, and as I said, is just really a call for attention...
Have a read at a good letter of concern written in regards to the bill...

Written by a man named Todd Ramsey, a great man in the car audio world. He's written various other letters in response to similar bills or call-to-actions.

Oh, and an update from a Hawaiian car audio enthusiast that originally brought the issue to my attention:
"Permanently deferred, we had a group of about 50+ people down there to oppose, and it looked like there was several hundred emailed testimonials opposing the bill. About 5-6 people went up to talk and brought up most of the points that have been talked about here. After the hearing, we all went outside and were talking to the guy who introduced the bill. He agreed to kill it, but is going to try to work with us on either more strictly enforcing the noise pollution law that is already in place, or raise the fines something along that line."

i know that even if i have the music low you can hear my car from over 30 feet....and i do play mine respectfuly well try my hardest but when its cranked you can feel it on the 23rd floor of my friends concrete appartment so thats gotta be over 250 feet :S... i do see why people bitch tho cause i wouldnt want to hear my car drive by at 2am. so why do it to others its respect and thats
what it boils down to not banning systems just give the cops some db meters and a ticket book lol that would be the way to go at it
