I got a 3400 v6 sorry if this is in the wrong section. But im sure its right..

Anyway some or most of you know my old problem which I changed the thermo And put new coolant sensor in. Started the car today And it popped up.

Everything is in place and coolant is filled. Any reason why its still on??

Drove 30 mins to a buddies house and car didn't over heat either. All hoses look fine and no leaks.

there is some dirt in the overflowtank that stuck the sensor on the contact, try to tap the overflow coolant tank near the lvel sensor this will do the job

thanks for the input guiguilandry, im sorry but your going to have to explain what you mean by that. haha sorry. never had a problem with the coolant so im new to this sorta thing,

but i am learing more and more day by day!

or could it be a bad sensor on the resovoir? i think it has one? it has never been replaced and the car has 163,xxx miles on it. just throwin other thoughts out there.

when the coolant tank is drained, the level sensor that is into the tank drop to the bottom and makes contact... that's normal the tank is empty... but when you refill it sometimes it stay stuck on the contact because of the previous old dex-cool deposit... it happens almost all the times really... look on the tank where there is that 2 wire connector (that is where the sensor is located) tap it with your hand a couple of times... the sensor will get unstuck and the light will go off... that's about it
