Ok. So on Thursday we had a crap load of rain fall on us and everything seemed to be fine. After school I went and bought a few things and put it into the trunk but then half way home while I was on the highway, the trunk just opened and the door locks opened! Nothing fell out and I pulled to the side and closed it. Just thought maybe I didn't close it well enough.

The next morning my dad goes to his van to go to work and comes back into the house saying that my trunk was open and the doors unlocked and now my trunk is full of snow! (It changed to snow over night.) He closed it for me because he had to go but then when I went outside The pushbutton for the trunk wouldn't work, my remote start trunk release wouldn't work and the key has never worked. I figured it's gonna stay cold so the snow won't melt.

I went to school and parked it. During one of my classes I was teaching, I saw my trunk just pop open out of no where. (I had already disabled the remote start so the FOB wouldn't work) I actually had to send a kid out to close it for me.

Ever since then I could not open my trunk and the snow is still in there.

1. Could this be an issue with the switches in the door or something else that got water on it?

2. Could this be tied to the blower that had recently blown a fuse and now stopped working again? (haven't had a chance to check the fuses yet)

Thanks in advance everyone.

sounds like you might have gotten some water in the switches on your driver door, so the door lock switch and trunk button switch are suspect.

I would check the fuses first, quickest and easiest to fix.

After checking the fuses and the switch - It might have happend, that water gathered in your plug / wire harness to the BCM which is located next to your left foot if your sitting in the car.
look closely if you have some water drops running down your weatherstripping and interior parts (like the kick panel).

A plugged drain is likely to cause this after a heavy rain.
