To get much louder I will most likely get a bigger vehicle and some bigger subs and amps and more batteries.

I understand the spirit of competition, but I thought you had to stay within certain class limits. But anyway, looks like you're moving foward on the project, and that's good :)

Prove it or all this numbers are BS to me. Pics, video or link to comp. http://www.termpro.com/asp/competitorstats.asp?Competitor_ID=79756&Season=2010&Method=1

It's a hobby. Unless you have the motivation to learn, you wouldn't be able to understand honestly. I enjoy the challenge of using the few resources I have, applying my knowledge, and accomplishing more from an spl and sq standpoint than a lot of other people do with 2 to4 times the money invested.

I think you may have got a number mixed up there. Maybe a 137 with a shitty box. It'd still be really hard to convince me of a 147 on a good day. You are talking about your Orion HCCA's right?

And honestly, with the money invested into those HCCA's, you could drop that cash into a single 12" or pair of 10"s and solid 3,000rms amplifier to compensate for the small box you'd be using. I could see you doing a 145 with a little work. That is with KEEPING your equipment AND running the subwoofer setup.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

And good number on music sir. :good: Can't wait to see what you can burp and at what frequencies! And to do a 150 in our car, you're looking to wall I assume? That would be a lot of power, money, and testing to see a 150 at under 40Hz out of our trunk. The only 150 I see coming out of our car with a trunk setup would be a burp box similar to Fi-Alero's car or something of the such and burp in the 50-60Hz range. SPL coils, etc. But I don't see you doing that. Musical or bust! lol I'll be looking forward to it though!

I metered 144.8db with the mic on the corner of the windshield and got 146.5db with the mic placed on the kick panel.

Thanks, somebody should do an FAQ type thread that tells how the competitions are set up and judged.

I find this number hard to believe. Unless its port wars, or on a really old meter, and in the kick with the door open.
to produce those kinds of numbers you need about 7-8k with a wall behind the b pillar.
maybe your mistaken on those numbers
