So I've spent the last 2 hours trying to get the grey and clear pieces apart...but they're held together with this black goo that will not give way. I've heated, I've pried, I've pulled. I'm heating with a hairdryer and these things will not give. Any suggestions guys?

there are tabs you need to pry up. like 8 per side. fighting those AND gray/black rubber glue crap can be tricky. but its do-able.
Keep working at it. Go one side at a time. start on an edge and keep working. I've found using 2 flat head screwdrivers works. Get one under an edge, pry a tab with another. Lock on into an open seam, pry down further. Lock the prying one in, pull the other out and use it to pry again down further still...etc.

Oven without a doubt. They should basically be burning your hands while you're prying. If it doesn't burn, it ain't working. lol
