Ok... I was wondering if anyone else had the problem that I'm currently having... when I take my stereo to about 1/2 way, the bass actually shakes my rear-view mirror down so that it's pointing towards the ground! Has anyone else had this problem and found a way to jury-rig a fix? Or should I go out and buy a new rear-view mirror? Any ideas?

Scott

i had the same problem, the mirror adjusts in two places..by the windshield and at the mirror itself....adjust by the windshield at its lowest point then adjust the mirror...mine doesnt move down anymore but i still cant see out of it cause of the vibrations..lol...you should also try tightening the screw that holds the mirror too

Yep mines the same way I think that it get worst the longer you have the system in the car because no I turn it up and it pointing at floor as soon as its up. But it does get turned up less now because I think that i am phazing my self out of bass and I am about to sell the sub, amp, and cap.

mine does that no matter what. but watch out too much bass can actually pull the plate off along with a nice chunk of your glass.

yea the chunk of glass thing is not good at all. cause first of all, you really cant mount your mirror anymore cause there is a chunk of glass missing(you COULD attach it to a different spot). second of all it just looks like ass. and finally, since it is a chunk missing it will eventually send cracks through your whole windshield.

My mirror vibrates and shakes and I don't even have my system installed yet. Could we install mirrors that are "more resistant" to vibrations or find work-arounds like those posted already?

yeah with my old system setup, it just vibrated a lot... and i thought it was had then.. now with my newer setup... damn.. lol even the outside side view mirrors vibrate... and the wipers.... etc.. anything "loose"

That's kinda what I was thinking. I generally just lower it, but even then it still ends up pointin' down. What I think I'm going to do is try and super-glue it up. A little glue in the joint should work.... cuz when the damn thing is at it's lowest, it's right in my vision, which really sucks! Either that, or buy one that's not quite as loose.... But thanks for the info on tightening the screw in the mirror! I'm going to do that soon!

some ducktape, super glue, string... you can try that... maybe some bolts and hinges

your not going to be able to fix that...

i took my mirror apart. there is a small seam that runs around the housing.... was able to pull it apart. took the mirror out..... and ran a bead of hotglue around it. the mirror itself doesnt rattle anymore...... but the unit as a whole still vibrates down when its really loud
