Steering wheel airbag cover melting??

Hey guys,

After a few years in the garage, now the steering wheel airbag cover is "Melting". How can i fix this??


It's all sticky and and kinda melting " Plastic/rubber".

So...what can i do?

i would say junk yard and replace it.

The cover on the airbag that you speak of is the airbag itself.

You'll have to remove and replace the entire airbag to fix it. I doubt there are aleros in a junkyard down there, so I think you're going to have to eBay ;)

try cleaning it first with some goo-gone to see if its just a top layer thats sticky
