hey guys, im doing a lot to my alero right now but with it getting warmer here in the summer im having some problems. I have installed a cold air intake and i know that the fan are both running but when doing a lot of stopping and going i get a few needle lengths above half. on the highway getting more ram air it is fine... do i just need to keep my foot out of it more?

these cars go over 1/2 mark. in the summer it will usually go a little above. mine did today too. its not a big deal... the only time you will have a problem is when you go above the 3/4 mark... thats when you should worry.

Well that's very nice to hear. I havent even got to half way in-between the two marks. But that's certainly nice to hear. Thanks for the help!

With the stock thermo, mine NEVER went over 1/2. Stayed right at 1/2 way.
With the 180 thermo, the hottest it gets is jsut under 1/2

Not even on a hot day in traffic?

Hey I know it been a while but I found the problem with this. I had to replace my alternator and hadn't noticed it before by my upper radiator hose was collapsing, restricting a ton of flow. I replaced the upper and lower hose (it was getting there) and refilled with 50/50 and it's never going above right at half with the ac on, hot day, and a bunch of stops. Much happier with performance now to. It's a bit more jumpy and idles smoother. Thanks for the input before though!
