my 03 2.2 with a cold air intake beat my freinds 98 grand prix (stock but everything under the hood was only a year old) in the quarter mile by about 10 car lengths. I was amazed with how she did.

Well... a Grand Prix could never be had with a 3.6, so was it a 3.1 or 3.8?

Based on the year I'm thinking 3.8 and I'm also thinking an ecotec taking out a 3800 isn't happening.
Edit: Upon further investigation the 3.1 was also available in this model year Grand prix as well, for some reason I thought it was just the 3800 and the 3800 sc.

the Grand Prix is a heavy pig of a car. The 3800 S/C stock runs low 15s with 240hp, and 280tq the 3800 N/A is 200hp and 225tq, an ecotec well driven would be a good run, 3100 would get stomped.

Ya he is running the 3.8. Like someone said up there. It's a lot bigger and heavier car then mine. We both spun out rather bad and I was holding the gears a little long but Im proud of that car. Much longer and he would of had me, the little engin just doesn't have to much more. Hopefully let you know exsact times soon.

I agree that a 3100 grand prix would get walked, I guess the n/a 3800 would be a good race, anyone know what those GPs weigh?

Aleros weigh 3340 with a 235 lb driver and 1/4 tank of gas without the spare and jack.
IDK if I believe this

If it was at the track you should have an exact time on your time slip. Post it, or this gets deleted. We absolutely do not promote any type of street racing.....

Now I have to run my GP vs Alero I don't believe I know my 3.8 has more than my Alero did

LEts see the slip. 16.51 is about right for the 2.2 Ecotec, but unless the GP had about 150 lbs in the trunk, I doubt it was slower
