Be careful with it though, it tends to come loose the more u remove it and replace it. I ended up buying 3 longer nuts for it. Its cool though

Nice car but... that is NOT a GLS

I think only GX came with the 4 cylinder (2.4) maybe some GL?

But all GLS have V6 engine & all leather , Sun roof & 16" rims

Just saying...;)

nope, only had it on for a couple days, but ive heard honda civics louder than mine

yes but i dont have a gasket where the header meets the exhaust piping. and it was smoking wen i first started it up but it hasnt smoked since. But idk if its just my brain thats making me sometimes smell something funky in the car while driving

You should definately get a gasket for that part of the exaust, just becase there no smoke doesnt mean its leaking, with no gasket carbon monoxide could be working its way inside your car which in case you didnt know is extremly dangerous:eek:

good use meguiars rim cleaner and tire sine. Also u need tint. It is not hard to do and it will be more than 100 bucks to install all 5 windows if someone else did it.

well the only way you get better is by doing it. Just take you time and it will look good. I am not that good at tinting windows and my car came out ok.

Hey I like how your Alero has changed since you joined. Good job on all the mods.
As for the tint it's not that hard. Make sure you use a soft squeegee not to scratch the film. And the only hard part is tinting the rear window. Make sure it's heat shrinked, and cutting in in half (horizontally) helps a lot.

you might get stopped because the max tint is 35% for mass. I have 5% but i live in maine but i get my car inspected in NH.

I think you will be ok. tint tends to look darker on dark cars. i noticed a side by side with my galaxy silver ho and a dark blue grand prix with the same % and mine looked lighter. i have 20% btw

picked it up from CL for $150
then meguires quik wax and added pinstripes
also have 25% on the front two and small back two

Looks good. What did you use to clean it?
I was thinking of doing mine black but I can't bring myself to spend the money to get a new gasket to replace the old one just to paint it.

I used a steel brush drill bit. The larger sized ones. But i used the same gasket. I researched this mod for over a week and a lot of people have used the gasket like 4x again. Its a pretty durable gasket. As long as you dont break it when you are prying the valve cover off, then you can deff use it again (provided it was in a good shape already) Just make sure when u are putting it back on, put some motor oil on ur finger and run it all along the gasket.
Cheap mod. Only like $7 for the paint.
(the tools needed I already had)

I had a steel brush that I used to take basically polish it
I had a handy dremel to reach the small parts.
then i used red engine enamel iirc. (you could use other stuff for better turnout like powder coat it)
but its real simple, just take your time when letting it dry.
Also, be careful when you put it on so that you dont get any chips in it.

When I was putting it back on i was kind of anal about torque-ing it to the correct ft/lb but I was told that it was just a valve cover and that just hand tighted plus a quarter of a turn will be fine

your probably only seeing 135-145 to the wheels if your lucky.
get HPtuners and tune it, then (if HPT calculates it) figure your HP. there are multiple applications for laptops you can download that connect by usb to your obd2 that can read your hp levels and such. i had it done on my old saab and it was supposedly putting out 190hp

I am pretty sure 140 is the brake hp subtract 15% and that will be ur wheel hp the v6 may say 170 hp but it is really 140-150 horsepower to the wheels. get a supercharger then u will notice a big hp gain ya u are lucky to have 145hp.

im telling ya, pipe your intake like mine, eliminating that black box right onto of the throttle body makes a world of difference.
