modified cai

has anyone modded their cai? i have the chrom air intake off ebvay and it points the filter down at about a 60degree angle facing the left side of the car. i was thinking aobut put a nother 60 in to point it forward and then get a k&n barrel shaped filter to fill more of of the area in the bumper. any opinion/concerns?

almost everyone has, on my old setup i used a cosmo eco intake with a v6 chrome intakes pipe and added a bend of the bottom to make it sit flush in the bumper. gunna do the same with LD9 intake

I think I have an idea of what your trying to do.

My project was, I took my regular CAI, bought another 90* bend intake for a MINI Cooper and put my filter on that. It brought the cone right upto the foglight, which was removed for drag racing. This setup produced a SLOWER 1/4 mile time.

My 2 cents, it's not worth doing

there's no way you can prove such a minimal difference at the track, far too many variables at play

Just evolved my WAI to a CAI!! I had to cut out a small chunk of the bay to make it fit tho lol. can't wait to take her out and hear that roar :)

lol whatever i give up. i know its all placebo effect anyway. at least im not saying how i gained 50hp just by doing this. all it did was change the sound
