My first post here, but just saw this thread and I would advise against buying counterfeit seats on ebay or cheap knockoffs. Those links even tell you the seats are knockoffs by saying they're a "registered trademark in Canada." You'll never see a pair of authentic Bride seats for under $1000, and even then real Bride reclining seats which cost close to $1000 each don't fare so well in crashes. Save your money and don't risk your life with cheap seats.

I picked up a pair of ARK by Sparco instead. The cleaner design appealed to me....

Yes I will be utilizing 4 point harnesses.....

nice choice kyle.

Thank you, they were on an overstock so I got a pair for $735 shipped so i'm pretty happy.....

Yes I will be utilizing 4 point harnesses.....

I'm curious to see the shoulder/lap loads on a sled test with bolt-in seatbelts not utilizing a torsion bar... I'll have to ask around tomorrow about why our harnesses can be safe without a load limiter. Might be in the webbing stretch.

don't risk your life with cheap seats.
:rotflmao:
From someone in the safety industry, the only collision that would more severely harm you using seats that break under load is a high energy rear collision.

well... front impact, alot of your force goes forward, retrained by belt, then pulled back with recoil... so its still ALOT more then usual.

...but i'd mostly have to agree with your original statement..

I like the Bride seats with the red stiching. Not too crazy about the ones that say "Bride" all down the back and butt parts.

I give you credit though. I wouldn't buy a new seat without a test sit first

I have sat in several different sparco and recaros and never been dissapointed. So I figured it was a safe choice.

The Bride seats are normally for really skinny people, so they wouldn't be something I'd gamble on without trying them out. A reclining FRP seat is nice - probably some significant weight savings.
Honestly, when I was auditioning seats I fit best in Sparco Evos, but they were non-reclining....so the Recaros got the nod. Let's face it, this is still a street car.
Good luck with your purchase.

Matt, I'd classify you as one of those "really skinny people" but I agree I wouldn't buy a car seat without sitting in it first. I actually didn't buy a car once just because of the seat

Yep still a street car, but it will see a limited amount of road time. Most of its time will be 1/4 passes and some short auto-x so.....it isn't entirely important, however, the specs of this seat are similar to others I have sat in.

And here in the middle of nowhere there are no competent speed shops, and if they do have any seats, they are aluminum buckets, so no chance to test fit really, other than people's cars but that was limited.....

Matt, I appreciate your response, yourself an aftermarket seat owner I was hoping you would chime in...

Getting a harness bar or a roll cage?

Harness bar right away.....time will tell if I need a roll cage....:scpimp: .......i hoping yes...

Passenger bracket is done and seat is installed. It won't take long to match the drivers but right now i'm concentrating on the clutch and tying up all the loose ends for the 5 speed swap

bump.

How do you like them? My stock leathers are tearing, and the vinyl electrical tape fix just looks horrible. Really starting to research aftermarket seats.

I love them they were well worth the money. I just am waiting to see if I want to install a harness bar or go with a cage, I'll probably wait on the cage until i'm forced to put one in......
