So like the title says, I am looking for info on Lake Cumberland. I want to camp so that is what I am after, where is a nice place and all that good stuff.
I found ConleyBottom Resort on the net, and they look like a nice place, you get a boat slip with your campsite for a little more money and that is fine, that's what I want, the only problem is they don't take reservations for camping.
I want to come down there September 4 (Saturday of labor day weekend) and leave on Wed the 8th. I don't think I will be able to just roll in and get a campsite on saturday seeing it's a holiday weekend and all.
Any body from Kentucky who is familiar with this area and has some advice.
Thanks.

I will actually be down in that area the same weekend. I have some family there so maybe I could ask them.

^^LOL Florence Mall Ya'll.... If you ever come back, check out Laurel Lake. It's not as big as Cumberland but I like it a lot better. Or you could always go to Cumberland Falls. That's a beautiful place.

The main part of the trip was to run the boat down there. I ran from Burnside down to withing a few miles of the dam and back up, it was a nice ride and great lake shore to look at.

Yeah. Of course we forgot the map so we had no idea where we were, and I made him turn around a few miles from the dam.

It's sooo easy to get lost on Cumberland. I could tell ya a story on why I say that but it's forever long and I'm hardly awake... But one of the forks is called Fishing Creek, it's just a little north of Conley Bottom. We discovered a nice camping area there and that's where we always go camping at now. Where did you guys stay?

We got a little cabin at Cumberland Cove. It's right across from the Burnside island ramp.

I can't place it but still, I'm sure it was nice.
