Hi,
Can anyone tell me if the transmission in 2002 Alero and 2003 Alero are a straight swap ?
Both came out of 3.4L.
My main concern is if wire connection on the 4T45 are all the same though out the model years.
Thanks for your time anyone.

I could only assume they are the same, considering there were no major changes between the two years that I'm aware of

In 03 they were built with stronger parts for reliabilty IIRC.

Found out that 2001 2002 2003 all have one off year trannsmissions.

I put a 05' 4t45 from a Grand AM GT in my 99 Alero. Had to change 1 axle and swap a couple pieces over, but all the connectors were the same.

A couple things, I'm going to make a post about it shortly. Have a random
issue I'm hoping someone has ran into.
However, when it is working properly, it shifts considerably firmer. I used HP
tuner to update the FDR, remove abuse/torque management and updated it
to match 05' GA GT the transmission came from.
If I get the pressure issue resolved, I'd say it's a better transmission than
the 4t40 that it had, alas, the original did have insane miles (223k) while this
one has 12k.

The FDR is 3.29 in the GAGT and that tranny is used as far upto 2009 Malibu.
