so my front passenger caliper is leaking out brake fluid, to the point of soaking the wheel well and the caliper itself. i'm pretty sure it's coming from one of the copper washers. is there a part number for the copper washers, or are they universal? how many washers per caliper are there? also, can i find them at autozone, napa, etc?

*edit* ALSO what size are they

another q: my abs/trac off/svs light come on and im pretty sure it isnt the hub as they've all been changed recently, so i was going to clean the plug contacts to see if that might fix it. can i use MAF cleaner? is it the same as contact cleaner?

im pretty sure the copper washers are universal. there are two per caliper. keep in mind it could be leaking because your metal "block" on the flexible line has pitted/rusted away. you can get them just about anywhere.

went to autozone, napa, and another parts place that most shops get their parts from. only had luck at autozone, and they had 2 sizes. 10 mm and 8 mm... so i got 2 8mms for both sides of the block..

we replaced the washers and it's still leaking a bit but alot better than before so i guess thats good o.O

if its still leaking thats not good at all, are you sure the old washer came off?

Are you sure it was leaking at the washer and not the line itself?

completely positive we got the old washer off between the bolt and the block. there wasnt even one between the caliper and the block (dumbass before me must have forgot about it)

and im completely positive its from the washer and not the line. we also checked for corrosion on the block and there was none

its not leaking really, i just felt it and it was damp. maybe its from residual brake fluid from doing the job but im sure my dad wiped it off

oh and, the washers that i bought were thinner than the one that was on it previously. is that going to be a problem?

Spray some brake cleaner around the connection and make sure the hose is nice and clean. Then give it a couple runs around the block and check again bud. Wiping with a rag will not do, use a cleaner to ensure it is completely free of brake fluid!

sweet, did that and its completely dry!

i was hoping that cleaning the abs plugs would make the abs/trac/svs lights go away (they were pretty dirty) but theyre still going on so im sure its a hub :(

I'd test the hub first to make sure. Might be just the abs harness, should make sure before you toss a hub at it.
