( Back in November 2010, amid apparent fuel delivery issues, I limped home after this:

http://www.aleromod.com/forums/showthread.php?p=566152#post566152 )

At last a chance to get in some runs :p

Upgraded injectors, made an attempt at tuning, experimented a little....
But DAMN, it was good to be out there again. :awesome:

Beech Bend Raceway Park, Bowling Green, KY, 09/17/2011, 72 degrees F.

M&H Racemaster 8.5 x 24.5 slicks, 36 lb. injectors, base fuel pressure set at 44. Full exhaust, air filter bypassed. Gas tank full, to eliminate possibility of fuel canister running dry.

Notes: launch not up to paar. Had best-looking WOT scan I've seen with this car -- no knock retard whatsoever. Injector Duty Cycle (IDC) : 89 %

Notes: Lousy launch again. Added + 1.5 degrees of timing, tweeked the MAF tubing. The IAT in the intake manifold was about 10 degrees F. lower than the first run. IDC -- 94%............ Again, absolutely zero Knock Retard.

Notes: Launching botchalism continues... Added 2 more degrees of timing, but the PC's battery died after the burnout, so could not analyze data.

Had some strange stuff on the cruising scans lately, but made it the 90 miles back home no problem. Except the exhaust seems louder now, may have shook something loose on the launches.

Good luck!

I think I got the fuel situation under control, so now I can do some tuning. Hope to run it lighter again next time. Got some wheel hop, though, because nothing has been stiffened on the suspension. Did you upgrade your mounts?

I squirted urethane into my stock transmission mount which helped immensely.

My suspension is stiffer now so last time I was at the track I had no issue with traction, but it was also slow off the line. I brake torqued in a parking lot recently to test launch and just feathering the throttle the tires spin like crazy now as soon as I let off the brake from 2200 RPM. It's nice that it has more torque but I have a feeling I might need sticky tires for the track now.. we shall see. Really hoping to finally hit the 12 number.. I know it all lies in the launch and the high end tune (currently noticed it's 13.5 AFR at wide open in the higher RPMs, lame. Tuning tonight.)

13.5?! Take it to 11.

Ya it's consistent 11.5-11.8 now. Looks like I'll have to go next week to the track as it's raining all weekend. But it gives me time to obtain the slicks again because I sure am going to need them now with the cooler weather and more apparent low end torque.

Just about ready for another go-round here. Might not have all the "good air" I was hoping for tomorrow, but we'll see. Should do a couple tenths better than last time. That's if she makes it to the track, of course. :)
