put this on saturday in a walmart parking lot south of pittsburg. drove 8 hours to meet greg, 2fst4u, and pick up a few more parts.
just a few random pics and some painting the bumper (looked like crap with the white behind it) going to wash and wax the car, as well as plastic dip the door handles and maybe spoiler tomorrow afternoon, then I'll get some more pics up.
I know it needs- lowered, rims, and dual exhaust. they are all soon to come.

i love how the rear bumper looks.
Thanks, it looked terrible with the metal bumper still white and rusted a little behind the mesh. Thankfully it was easy to pull off again, then just and hour and half of sanding with the drill, and some primer and paint later it turned pretty good.

Thanks. Took around 3 hours. The side skirts needed a bit of trimming and we fabricated the brackets for them on the spot, but it had also been on his alero for a while so it was already molded and holes drilled and everything, it went on really easy, pulling the stock bumpers off just took a while, and those front bumper bolts were a pain in the ***.

I forgot who it was but someone posted picks on the howto plastic dip thread and I really liked the look. I might also be doing the spoiler and when I get the vfiber hood the raised part will black on it.

:rotflmao: The black door handles are NOT a good look, it looks retarded. The vfiber hood is the best hood that is readily available, but that's not saying much....

Gonna be the first to say this... Not a fan at all.. Besides the OSV kit, there isnt a body kit for the Alero that doesn't make it look like a cheap chinese toy car... But thats just my opinion... I still respect the work and time you put into your car. I just think the Alero is sexy enough with some cleared corners, lowered and some rims.

that would be me good sir. ;)

the most i would do on a body kit is probably just the razzi, i dont like to flashy of a body kit, most people consider it rice and i dont care to hear about it.

It turned out really good, we got home around 3:30am and I put in all the new tails and went to bed. Around noon I got up did the bumper, looks way better. That top hole on the rear bumper I had mentioned, on both sides it bent in a little there so I drilled and ran a zip tie, the whole kit just flows perfectly, Theres no way I woulda guessed you'd had it for 5 years.

I don't care what people think. Personally I find it extremely sexy. My buddy who went with is threading to have me wake up one morning with it gone, lol, he wants it for his alero. And judging by the staring problem iv had with everyone around town, they must be liking it.

Papa Rad17

Oh trust me, they are on the list. Tint is a little first back though, new exsauat and the hood is before that. Either way my stock rims are getting the though winter though, I'm not getting new ones just to see them cover on dirty and salt.

you can get new ones, just keep em as summer only tires. my 18's are in my room right beside me for winter, put my 16' american racing ones back on 2 days ago. :)

:hanged:

No, just because people look at it doesn't mean they like it. They probably think it's funny how a stock height, stock wheels four-door car has the riciest body kit available on.

Most people hated my kit when it was on, but at least when they poked fun I had the power to beat them.

I think it's cool. Just another look for our Aleros. I remember I mentioned something about people looking at my car and I got slammed for that too. Come to find out many, many people have told me what a really nice looking car I have. I'm about as stock as I can get but since I keep mine spotless always, I get lots of compliments. Rock that Alero anyway you want! It's yours and whatever makes you happy is what's important P Rad.

it is your car so do what you want but personally i think that chrome strip you put all over the back clashes and takes away from the car

Looks good! I like how the fog lights look behind the mesh. One suggestion is to get rid of chrome on the tail lights, but it's up to you.

i like the bodykit x3 on losing the chrome on the taillights

Looks sweet. I cant wait to put mine on.
I would of waited till after winter though.
But once you find some nice rims and tint your windows its going to look fresh

it also needs to be lowered

^I know, im getting my lowering springs for Christmas and will be getting some 17' rims in the spring. window tint is on the list but new exhaust is before that. the chrome on the trunk is to cover up the black seal line between the 2 parts, I think it makes it look a lot cleaner, and the tails kinda finish it off, personally I really like it, though I will agree it doesnt look good in the pics, much better in person, and I get a random compliment on it specifically. I'll be keeping it, I like the look, but like i said, its better in person. thanks to all for the compliments! anyone notice the custom touches? the side skirt vents are filled and the lower vents on the front bumper, makes it look WAY better I think. however that work was all done by greg before I purchased it.

I as well think the "chrome" strips looky tacky but its your car. I noticed right away that the holes were filled in, it looks much better that way and in the case of the front bumper will be much stronger when you are lowered. I also like the fact that you are going to get exhaust before tint!:scpimp: That's my kind of thinking........

Personally I realized after being kitted that I didn't want to anymore, but I also understand that when you want something and a good deal comes up you jump on it. (There's a reason I had my wheels in the garage for over 3 years before they went on the car....lol) This kit already painted for your car and for you was a good grab!

I would get the Eibach Springs on that one. The Eibach leaves the car sitting very level and looks good with that kit. **I too like the front mods that are done on that cover. The H&R Springs leaves the car a little lower in the front. I have H&R on mine and to give you an idea of the angle it sits on, to adjust the front lamps to their proper angle I had to completely max out the height adjuster to get it. Even there they are a touch low when I checked them with our digital GM aimer, but pretty close.
That much angle with that fascia and I think you'll have issues and end up in a bodyshop pretty quick. "I think" the Eibach's are the way to go for you, again... as always, to each their own though! Lookin' good!

Papa Rad17
11-17-2011, 04:30 PM
yes, getting the eibach for sure. the exhaust will be pacesetter headers and cat, quad tips. I had been wanting the kit for so long, no that I finally have it I just want to sit in the garage and stare at it, I like the little different look it gives the car but yet you can still tell its an alero. I appreciate the help/comments everyone!

this thread almost makes me want to get one of those kits and do the mods he did to it and then put it on my car...i would have to figure out something for the back bumper though because those big screen holes just aren't my style and it flairs a bit much...i still would entertain getting a aas front bumper instead of a stock one if i end up having to get one to paint

i am thinking of getting a bodykit for my car but the hard part is going to be finding a place that will have the paint for my car and they have to mix it right or it will not come out the same color. I will customize it but that is if I get it.

My local body shop was going to for me but then I found this one already painted and everthing, one hell of deal and I think it looks sweet. The vents in the rear may be a bit big but I like them. It looked like crap before I got bumper painted black being them though, unfortunately I didn't get any pics of it like that... Oh well, after a few hours of sanding it turned out really good.
