ive searched and searched but i cant find a dang carbonfiber oem style hood anywere i think ive spent 3 eye soreing hours looking for this thing do they even make them or how do i get it custom made any help would be effin great

The only carbon fiber hoods that I know of are the cowl hoods and they are no longer produced

Tim has one. I remember he told me that long time ago there was a group buy and some dude bought it but then wrecked the Alero before receiving the hood. So his parents sold it for very cheap. Tim got lucky on that one.

I know reddog has a carbon fiber cowl hood from aleroed04's part out if I remember correctly. Someone else posted about this a while back, cf your going to have to custom make.

IIRC there was only 9 cowl hoods in that group buy, 6 were all fiberglass and 3 were fiberglass frame with a CF skin.

This hood is no longer being produced. The group buy didn't go very well :(

:lol: :lol: Yes, it is rice....but he's sad he doesn't have a real CF hood like us so lets not be too mean ;) BTW Ken did u have to put some washers between the hinge and the hood for it to sit level with the fender? Wondering if all the cf hoods were like that

No, but mine wasn't sitting flush at all. I just adjusted the hood bump stops

There were a limited number of OEM style carbon fiber hoods produced a LONG time ago. I have one in the attic.

Dude.....how much alero stuff do you have? LOL....this dude has like 3 hoods for our cars....stock/bubble/stock CF....and you used to have the cowl cf i have.....your crazy man! haha

ya I got mine from the kids parents cuz he moved out and left it in their garage... best $200 I ever spent!!! It does need some work, but the rareness of it will be worth the money I have to spend to repair the damages...

Actually if you recall, I have owned two different Cowl CF hoods, I also had the Stock hood with the custom heat extractors in it at one time and if you count all the oem hoods from 4 different aleros I've owned, the hood count is somewhere around 11.

Really for both of you, it is a race weight (think <5lbs) pin on only type hood. The corners are a little damaged as well, so if I plan on using it again it will get glassed on the corners and painted solid. I just wanted the CF for the weight.
