Incorrect read on fuel gauge in cold temps

I cant imagine my car getting only 60 miles on a half tank its a 2.4L, but the car has a new fuel pump, aftermarket, could this be a direct reason for an incorrect read? I have not topped my tank to clarify yet, I will tomorrow but has anyone had this type of problem?

My fuel Gauge reads about a quarter of a tank off and its the factory pump. (at 1/4 on the gauge, the tank's VERY close to empty)

They either bent the float or the contacts on the level sending unit requires cleaning. If the contacts get dirty it will read off. GM dealer has a cleaner for just that type of problem. If the cleaner doesn't work, then your going to have to drop the tank again to find if it is bent or requires replacing.
