for my 2.2, for sure getting http://www.andysautosport.com/oldsmobile/1999_2004_alero/performance/headers/pace_setter/pacs00034561.html BUT what size piping and cat? I know 2.25 is supposed to good for my engine and iv been told 2.5 would be max. so if I go 2.5 with http://www.andysautosport.com/oldsmobile/1999_2004_alero/performance/exhaust/catalytic_converters/pace_setter/pacs00000217.html for the cat or http://www.andysautosport.com/oldsmobile/1999_2004_alero/performance/exhaust/catalytic_converters/pace_setter/pacs00000214.html the regular 2.5' high flow, will that also be able to handle supercharging? the MONZA cat in that link is supposed to be able handle more flow while still the 2.5' size. I really dont want to get this done then have to go back and redo to handle the supercharging in the future. help asap please, I'll be ordering soon!

If you are going to stay NA for a while longer, I would recommend staying with a max of 2.25 exhaust. If you are going to supercharge, go bigger. Just think, you are putting more air into the engine, you have to allow for way more air to come out! As far as the CAT. Unless you are going to cut it out completely, save your money. My exhaust guy showed me a standard CAT beside a "high flow" one and guess what? They are identical. Only diference is one is shinny! I put magnaflow duels on mine with the factory CAT and I'm happy! Hope this helps! Merry Christmas

well the high flow cats flow a little better but not worth it to get one. Just install a test pipe if you have no emissions in your state or county. import tuner did a servey comparing a high flow cat at a oem cat and they only got a 5 extra HP with the high flow cat. The only down side to going with a test pipe it is illegal if you have no cat. also with the money you save not buying the cat you can buy something else for your car like some gauges and a gauge pod or lowering springs.

Ok, I just wanted to make sure. I think I'll go ahead and drop in the high flow cat but not the monza style one.

not to throw this whole thing off topic, but anyone selling or wanna get rid of an SLP catback for the 3.4l ? or SLP exhaust up to the downpipe?..

as for you Papa Rad, Id say stick with the 2.5 but if you wanna run high boost, id go with 2.75" but 3" is just too big

DO NOT get the pacesetter exhaust for the 4 banger....its sounds like ass. go to an exhaust shop, have them weld in some pipe.....get a nice cat....done.

2.5 is too much for an N/A engine....i know he said he wants to supercharge it....but that IS NOT cheap....and you cant half ass a supercharger or turbo set up.... you say your gonna supercharge it but you never know what will happen financially....A LOT of people come on here and say this and that dont do it....ive done it too.

it doesnt matter what engine the exhaust comes off of....they all fit....

Like I said, I would stick with 2.25 inch exhaust. You only want to go one size up if you are going to do a performance job. You could go to 2.5 inch if that supercharger is on it, but I am with billytheman1188. I have plans of supercharging mine too, but is it actually REALLY going to Happen? Unless I get a HELL of a deal on the parts and a free motor, probably not. Stick with 2.25.
