I would love to go to ASS, but I make my money during the summer. Could I get the days off? Probably, but during the middle of the season there is no way in hell I would miss the chance to go out on fires. I make my money in the summer so I don't have to in the winter.......

If I don't go it won't be because of the car,it will be because I need to work or I decide that I don't want to drive that far especially alone...I just don't want everybody to freak out about how trashed my car is if I do come because most of it was done before I got it...It needs new dash,headliner,door panels,some other trim panels,front bumper. The back bumper at least needs some work and there is a decent sized dent on the front passenger side fender needs fixed. The only stuff that is there because of me is paint scuff on the front drivers side from messing on the snow/ice at like 5 mph and sliding up against a wooden fence

Though I cannot foretell the future, I am getting the car ready now to attempt to be presentable. Being in VA makes it easier than being in TX. If I am not deployed or wrapped up in some other life event I intend to make it.

I might just have to try and top that :haha: no matter what I'll try and come. either way its not moving very far until I get my lowering springs and sway bars so that I can get them put on and realigned. so as long as jawa ships them and the swar bars come though I'll try and make it. SMH.....what a shame. I'm still driving around with my front bumper smashed....need to get a new bumper cover, driver side fog, driver side front half of the wheel liner. Thats just 1 of Ruby's flaws...:lol: Dings along the top half of the door (where its curved)....a lot of them on the passenger side of the car....some on the driver side too....this is from when my mom had it and she used to park under a bridge....i think pebbles would come down...or people hitting it with their door but i doubt that...idk...

I also have clear coat peeling on my passenger side fender/front door....due to half assed body work (i didnt do it!!! seriously...lol).

Also the engine has 150k on it and i'm gonna be dropping in the 3500 when shes done.


You're gonna give up after 1 little accident. Fix the car up and drive it like that. That body kit you had on was rice anyways.....its better that its all smashed up :P But at the end of the day its your decision....go buy a honda....you seem like the kinda guy who would really dig that! yeaaaaa....VTEC!!!!!:awesome:

well what you want rwd would be pointless could not drive it in winter unless you buy studded snow tire. you want good gas mileage so a v8 is out of the question how about a Subaru WRX or impreza rs 2.5 or legacy GT probably the best sounding 4cyl out there and have the best AWD system out there.

im actually currently looking a 2010 chevy cruze that is on a local lot. my mom has one I would drive it over my alero any day. I fell in love with the car when my mom and I took it for a test drive. even when I have to pull it out the garage I take it around the block sometimes just to get to drive it. I like it just how it sits completely stock and it gets amazing gas millage < the 2 biggest things im looking for in a new car...

Rent a car, borrow a car, if you have 2 cars, bring the other car. If you don't bring an Alero, you just cannot show it, but we all are car guys, so it will get some interest.

When my ex wife and I were still together, she drove her Nissan Altmia with Adam in the back, and I drove the Alero. The Altima got some attention from the ASS goers, but maybe some negitive attention from the Michigan people in the area (being a Japanese car and all)

He is to young to rent a car you need to be 21 to rent a car even then u will pay a fee if you are under 25. Except for employees that are under 25. Also renting from the airport will be more money than renting from the same company off of airport property because u have to pay airport taxes when renting a car from an airport. Jut fyi if anybody ever needs to rent a car.

I'v never had a complaint with the dodge vehicals my family has owned. the lower end status I wont even look at, the rt model has a lot more going for it. still, I'v only riden in them before, never drove so I have no idea if thats really want or not. as for an alero, I decided I dont want another n-body.

I was trying to be defensive by not hitting him when he moved into my lane, when I decided the ditch was better then oncoming traffic, when I made the pole hit on my side the car and not my friends. the past winter I spent hours on the ice learning how my car handled, that came in handy when the silver accord was looming in my windshield with my car skidding sideways across the road. yes, i done fucked up and I'm perfectly happy to take crap for that and for looking at another car different then what everyone else likes. If it was a newer avenger I would take it...dodge has stepped up quality quite a bit since the bailout, it is the older ones that I have an issue with...I was saying that a 5-speed alero was a better option IMO than a stratus, however there are still cars that are better than the alero i would agree.

The 2.4 Turbo Stratus was only made in Mexico sadly. That is the same engine they used in the neon srt4 and the pt crusier gt. Why not get a neon srt4 they are not bad cars 230hp 250flbs tq and with little money u can make them real fast. You could also get a Subaru impreza rs 2.5 they are in ur price and there are a ton of subaru forums so u could learn about them and the aftermarket field for Subaru s is endless.

I never said he crashed it on purpose...please dont put words in my mouth. I think its pretty easy to see what i was saying. You don't FLY OFF THE ROAD when someone swerves a little bit....i said i dont think the guy was trying to run you off the road cause thats pretty messed up....he's trying to be a hot shot in alero passing on the right....be patient....there shouldn't be another car in the oncoming lane if your passing on the left....sounds like he's a shitty driver. YOU MAKE SURE the other lane is clear then pass....you dont be a jack ass and try to pass someone on the other side when there's a car coming the other way. He should have laid on his brakes and got back behind him.

We know you don't want another nbody....you fuckin post about every other car on here except the alero. Go buy your subaru and join one of their forums so you can talk to them about how great they are. Meanwhile i (along with many other members) will stick with our aleros and be DIFFERENT. I don't have enough time to plan for time off etc: It's the same weekend every year. You are told about it 364 days in advance, how much more time do you need?

I don't have enough money: Kinda goes hand and hand with the time thing, but you can share a room with others to drop the cost of a room, bring a buddy to drop the price of filling up, etc

It's too far away: Fallout boy (Juillan) came last year from Germany. He spent the day before at my house. Total miles travled 9100. Al Heinck and another guy (can't remember his name) drove from LA, 2650 miles, 44 hours, ONE WAY

I'm def comming next year: Bullshit, only one person said that and followed through with it

My car isn't show quailty: OK, so what. You don't have cleaners, sponges, buckets, water? Ion showed up one year with his front end all messed up, Marc's car looked like it was sponored by colgate with all the bondo holding his front end together.

I've been there before, but I don't have an Alero anymore: OK good one, but Marc came to ASS about 5 years or so, only brough his Alero to one
