for the ecotecs to produce water from the tail pipe? my old grand am (3.1L) did this too, and i think my moms old cavalier did it as well (2.2L ecotec)

i was filling my tires and noticed water drops coming from the tail pipe, i touched it and smelled it, and it was in fact water. it was producing enough for a tiny puddle while the car was running for about 10 minutes. most of it evaporated by the time i shut the car off though.

just wanted to know if it was normal for GM cars to do this? more specifically the ecotecs

yes. all cars with a cat do it. thats part of what it does. turns immisions into water and some other stuff. for every gallon of gas burned you produce a gallon of water.

Sometimes on cool mornings you can see water dripping out of the tailpipes of other cars when you're stopped in traffic.. Its normal stuff.
