for you performance guys ever though of raising the rear of your hood an inch or two for heat dissipation? im trying to picture it in my head and i think it would look pretty bad ass especially if you have a pavement pounder.

iv wondered how do you keep water getting on the coils to a minimum?

It is funny you made this thread. I seen black jacks screen pic in an old thread and decide I would make some out of poly. when I get the money or have some made out of stainless at work on the lasers. Bad thing though they might weigh in around 5-10lbs. when completed at around 1-2inches thick. Hence the polyurethane...

iirc blackjack just used a few washers to lift his and longer bolts... not 100% on my memory, but in theory it works lol

In autobody I was taught that if you need the front of the hood up a little you shim the front bolts, to raise the rear, shim the rear ones. If you are doing the kind of lift Im thinking, shim them both, just use a couple more shims on the rear bolts than the front. Dont know if I like the idea, but that is a way to do it. I had to shim the hell out of my carbon SCT hood to make it fit right..lol
