I would like to bring my car out to a track see what she can do. Really risky to race her on 95 lol. Just about got busted last week.

Really I would like some info from some of you guys that have went to tracks how things work and where to go. I live in Stafford VA and willing to drive as far as PA if need be.

well i cant say seeing as how i'm not from around there... but first of all... pretty much any drag strip will have certain times on certain nights set up for street drags.... i'd search there first, or maybe some of the pa guys can help you out... good luck, there's nothing like racing at the track...

Ya I found a few tracks that are a few miles away. I hate being the noob but hell you got to start somewhere lol. Now I need to give them a call see what's up. How do these things work. You go to the track and then what? Do they match you up with someone you do you have to find someone to race? I have so many questions. Don't want to get there and look like the noob and stand out really bad. Just want to see what my car can do before I start on some major upgrades like a supercharger and some computer mods then test it after see how much better I got it going for the 10Gs I'm going to put into her lol. But ya thanks for your help well give the tracks a call Monday first thing.

well some have certain car classes... sport compact, street, etc.

but there will basically be lines, staging lanes, and you pretty much line up against who you want to race, and then you wait in line until you're up at the track... you burnout if ya want, then stage... hold the brake, set your rpms at about 1800-2200 depending on how good your tires and right after you see the third amber, drop the brake and punch the gas.

if you lose traction, you can either launch at lower rpm, or release the brake just a tiny bit slower, but still fast, if that makes sense.

try a few things and compare your 60' times. do whichever is best for your 60'. assuming you get timeslips.

lemme know if you have any other questions.

sounds fun lol. I was thinking it would cost a lot more then that. Think I might go out next week. Oh the other thing is age. How old do you need to be to be in the car when its on the track? Can there be two people? My bro really wants to come just don't want to sit him in the stands all day lol. Is there any extra mods I have to do before they well let me on the tracks?

Most tracks will not allow a passenger. In NJ, you can't even be "around the wall" - either under the tower or by the starting line - if you are under 17 and not driving the race vehicle.

Not sure what to make of that site. Looked around got some dead links. What class would the alero fit in what kind of race? I am very new to this kinda stuff.
