fuzzy door speaker

hey,
so recently my front left speaker started sounding horrible. it sounds the worst with the bass turned up even a little bit, but you can still hear from it even though it sounds terrible.

could this be a blown speaker? if so how do i check for this :S

would you suggest getting something other than speakers from the scrapyard?
if so, how much would you suggest paying for a little better quality?

it all depends on what you want to spend vs what you want it to sound like
lots of people just go with 80 to 100 speakers that work fine with stock deck or aftermarket deck. or you can go with me and a few other people that run lots of power and spend 350+ on a set. but then you need to get better decks, and 4-channel amps etc
